Vice President, Pilot Training

Ed joined Mesa Airlines in November 2019 as VP Flight Training.

With over 40 years commercial aviation experience, Ed was most recently employed with Allegiant Air as Director Flight Training & Standards and Alaska Airlines as a flight crew member on the A-320/321 & B-737.

From 1994 to 2019 Ed completed a 25-year career with UPS Airlines where he held numerous key leadership positions in Training, Standards and Operations including Fleet Training Manager on B727, A300 and B747-400/MD-11 aircraft; Fleet Standards Manager on A300 and B747-400 and System Operations Manager for UPS’ World-wide Operations. Prior to his retirement from UPS in July 2019, he was the West Region Chief Pilot supporting UPS Airline activities in the Western U.S., Canada, China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

Ed holds an (ATP) Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Type Ratings on: B727, B737, B757, B767, B747-400, A300/A310, A320, CE-500, CE-650 and LR-JET Aircraft. During his 40-year career, Ed accumulated approximately 15,000 flight hours with over 5,000 hours as instructor/check pilot.

Ed earned a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on International Business from Indiana Wesleyan University.

In addition to his primary duties, Ed is a guest lecturer at (CAMIC) Civil Aviation Management Institute of China in Beijing and teaches at Arizona State University.
