Jonathan Ireland

Jonathan Ireland is senior vice president of finance at United Airlines. In this role, Jonathan oversees United’s operating costs and capital expenditures, manages the business financial planning functions, and leads enterprise financial goal setting. He is also responsible for United’s global procurement organization, including aircraft purchasing. Prior to his current role, Jonathan was vice president of financial planning and analysis. In this capacity, he managed United’s financial plan and oversaw the company’s multi-billion dollar capital budget. He also previously served as managing director of investor relations, where he oversaw all of United’s financial results communications and managed relationships with United’s investors, analysts and credit rating agencies. Jonathan was named Best IR Professional in Institutional Investor magazine’s 2016 All-America Executive Team. Before joining United in 2008, Jonathan was the credit manager for a satellite branch of Opportunity International, a microfinance non-profit based in Guadalajara, Mexico. He received his Bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Augustana College and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
