Michael L. Ferverda

Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Special Projects
Captain Michael Ferverda joined Mesa Airlines in 1990 as a First Officer in the Beechcraft 1300 and has served the company in various capacities ranging from Captain, Flight Instructor, Check Airman, Assistant Chief Pilot, FAA Designated Examiner, FAA Director of Operations, Division Vice President and Senior Vice President of the company's China Joint Venture. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Aircraft Programs. 

With more than 46 years of experience in the aviation industry, he is a highly regarded aviator and a key member of Mesa's senior management team. In 2007 he was appointed Chief Operating Officer of Kunpeng Airlines, Mesa Air Group Inc’s joint-venture with Shenzhen Airlines, of China. Captain Ferverda served in that capacity until his return to Phoenix corporate in May 2009. During his tenure in China he also occupied the positions of Director of Operations and Chief Pilot for Kunpeng Airlines. He previously served as President of Freedom Airlines in 2002 and Senior Vice President - West Coast Operations in February 2003. Additionally, he served as the Senior Vice President of Operations for Mesa Airlines. From 1973 until 1989, he was a pilot for Eastern Airlines with prior experience as an aviator in the United States Navy. Captain Ferverda is a graduate of Indiana University.
